El Oso was a Mexican outlaw who befriended Charlie back in 1913.
Appearance[]
El Oso is a tall and slender man of Mexican descent. He has a tan skin, scraggly black hair, black skin and some wounds on his face. He looks physically younger than the rest of his outlaw fellows.
Outfit[]
El Oso wears brown jacket, white shirt, blue scarf, dark blue pants and brown boots.
Personality[]
Grateful for good acts towards him, El Oso is generally kind and good-natured man. Despite this, his former life as a Mexican outlaw made him somewhat cynical, gruff and easily irritated. He had shown great loyalty towards Charlie for saving him from dying and refuses to tell Blue Eye Ramon of Charlie’s whereabouts, not even after Ramon threatens to cut his arm off.
Biography[]
El Oso was first seen on the ground, suffering from the thirst because of the heat. Charlie finds him and while scared of humans, he decided to help him and carries him to the house, where he revives him when he accidentally spilled a bowl of water on his face. Charlie then brings up a bowl of water for El Oso and when Oso drinks all of it, he thanks Charlie, but upon looking at him, he quickly shrieks: “Ah! El Chupacabra!”. They get scared, but when Oso sees that Chupacabra is a really scared creature, he looks closely at him, commenting that he doesn’t look that scary than in the poster.
Charlie introduces himself and became friends with El Oso. Just as Blue Eye Ramon, Chuckles and Knives arrived, Oso, fearing for Charlie’s safety, hides him in the closet, but Charlie accidentally gives away his hideout due to being bothered by a tiny spider. Eventually, Charlie comes out dressed like an outlaw and impresses them with his tall tales, which dismays Oso as he thought them to be over-exaggerating.
When Ramon brings up the fact of El Chupacabra, Charlie, nervous and knowing that this will get him caught, attempts to leave, but Ramon is in no way he could be fooled and strips him off his outfit, revealing him to his crew. Charlie escapes and Oso kicks the table at his former compadres to buy enough time for his friend to escape. Ramon, enraged at Oso for his betrayal, decides to cut Oso’s arm off, but as he tried to do so, Charlie puts outfits on cactuses and makes sounds like he is the police officer and when he had made an impressive sounds of gunshots, Ramon and the others run off cowardly.
Oso was not aware, until he finds out that Charlie was imitating all animals, which mildly impresses Oso, who assures him that he will gain many friends one day. Oso then tells him to keep a low profile, stressing that there are not very few of humans on Earth, who could tolerate the presence of the Cryptid. Charlie and Oso parts ways on good note. Oso was never seen or heard from again.
