Previous: "Ralph (episode)" Next: "Coffee Cave"

[Episode starts with a shot of Earth from space]

Narrator: Earth. Not just our home, but home to a number of different species. (Shows a reindeer) Some big, (shows a raccoon and two kits coming out a bush) some small. (camera pans to the cave) and some so unique, they deserve a whole episode. Welcome to Planet Bears, (Planet Bears logo appears on screen) hosted by yours truly, sir Lawrence Greyborough. (fades to black and cuts to inside of cave) In the quiet den, the bears are slowly and peacefully awakened by the warmth and sound of spring.

[Panda's alarm goes off at 9:00 am on his laptop and he switches it off. Cut to a view of Panda in his room]

Narrator: Though he spends a third of the day resting, the gentle and elusive Panda is slow to rise. (Cut to Grizz asleep in his bed) The mighty Grizzly begins his day full of vigor.

Grizz: (wakes up) Good morning world! Good morning, room. Good morning, motivational poster. (poster on the ceiling reads "You the man!") (Grizz leaves room and knocks on Panda's door) Wakey-wakey, bro!

Panda: Five more minutes.

Grizz: (walks to kitchen) Good morning, kitchen. Good morning trash-can. How do you do, microwave? Ugh, I'm so thirsty. (opens fridge and a juice bottle gets tossed out to Grizz who drinks from it)

Narrator: While the grizzly restores his electrolytes, (Grizz sits at table with Panda. Ice Bear stands outside fridge) the highly skilled polar bear focuses on the most important aspect of a bear's life.

Panda: Uh, need breakfast.

Grizz: You know what would be awesome, Pan? French toast sticks.

Ice Bear: Ice Bear needs cooking space. (Grizz and Panda leave the table)

Narrator: The grizzly and the panda wander off to distract their minds from their rumbling tummies, so the polar bear can prepare their morning meal.

[Ice Bear puts three plates on the table, heats a pot on the stove, looks inside the fridge but sees it is empty. Grizz and Panda are on the couch watching Pug Bowl]

TV announcer: Hello and welcome to the 41st annual Pug Bowl! (Pug barks)

Grizz: Ah, I forgot this was today!

Panda: Yeah, this game is gonna be so good!

TV announcer: Breaking news; it seems that the NVP of this season, Rocket, will be missing out on the game today due to a scratch on his left paw. (shows pug with bandage on leg)

Panda: What?

Grizz: Boo! We want Rocket!

Ice Bear: (enters living room) Ice Bear looked everywhere for food, found nothing.

Panda: Ugh, first Rocket gets hurt and now no breakfast?

Grizz: Okay, okay, guys, relax. No food, then there's only one place to go.

Narrator: The supermarket. This abundant food source attracts every hungry species in the area, which makes it crowded and therefore, highly competitive.

[The bears enter the supermarket]

Ice Bear: Ice Bear will get bread, granola bars. Panda, get cereal.

Panda: Cereal? Ugh, that's so much pressure, I mean there's so many options. Which one is the right one? (A young female employee pushes a box on a trolley past him dropping a cereal box) Oh hey, you dropped your cereal.

Employee: Oh, thank you so much. You're my hero.

Panda: (stares at her with wide eyes) You know, I'll take care of the cereal. (chuckles) I totally got this.

Grizz: (goes wide-eyed and starts fidgeting)

Ice Bear: Ice Bear needs carrots, chicken, teriyaki sauce.

Grizz: You got it. But first, I need to respond to nature's call. (walks off but briefly returns) That means I'm going to the bathroom.

Ice Bear: Ice Bear got it.

Grizz: Cool.

Narrator: With the grizzly needing to answer nature's call, and the panda in search of a potential mate, the young polar bear is left to forage on his own. The limited supply at this fishing hole means competition will be great. Our polar bear will have to wait his turn.

[Ice Bear takes a ticket at the frozen meat section and waits in line]

Grizz: Gotta go, gotta go, where are you, bathroom? (asks person talking on phone) Excuse me, do you know where the bathroom is?

Man (talking on phone): I'm sorry honey, can you tell me that again?

Grizz: (to old lady) Um, Can you help me?

Old lady: Yo no sé. (I don't know)

Grizz: Gracias. (Sees restroom sign above a door) Yes! (opens door, walks inside a dark storage room) Um, am I supposed to be back here?

[Cut to female employee sorting the cereal aisle and Panda sees her]

Narrator: Having situated himself near his potential mate, the panda hopes to draw her attention.

Panda: (picks up cereal box) Hm, “wheat bars cereal on the go”. Well that’s perfect for me since I’m always on the go to like, the gym and stuff.

Employee: Oh, totally. That’s an excellent choice. You should also try the ones with chocolate chips.

Panda: Is that so? Oh, do tell. (Leans on a stack of cereal boxes and they all fall over)

Employee: Watch out for the- (sees the boxes on the floor and one on Panda’s head)

Panda: Clean up on aisle 5, right? (chuckles nervously)

[Ice Bear is next in line at the frozen seafood section]

Narrator: At the fishing hole, our polar bear finally gets his turn.

Employee: How can I help you?

Ice Bear: Ice Bear would like some salmon.

Employee: I’m afraid we’re out of salmon.

Ice Bear: Tuna?

Employee: We’re out of tuna too.

Ice Bear: Catfish? Goldfish? Cod?

Employee: Well we still have, let me think, yeah we’re out of that too.

Narrator: The hunt continues for our hungry bear. Fortunately, he can settle for the next best thing. Competition, however, is still at the forefront. (Ice Bear and a mother both grab the same bag of Fishy Sticks.) You can cut the passive aggressiveness with a knife. The polar bear has been challenged by an aggressive female, and now must assert his dominance to win his fish-sticks, or fight.

[The mother’s son comes up to them]

Son: Hi! Ah, fish sticks! (grabs bag as he and the mother walk off)

Narrator: The polar bear will have to continue his tireless search elsewhere. (Ice Bear grabs a bag of tofu) Or settle for fried tofu.
