We Bare Bears Wiki

I know this technically isn't the right place to post episode ideas, but that discussion board hasn't been active for the past 9 months and it seems awkward to just butt in there after so long, so that's why I'm posting this here.

Also, this may be long, so hang in there.

Anyways, the episode I came up with is called "Initial B," an obvious reference to the anime "Initial D." I know that Steven Universe already referenced this anime back in 2016, but that was only for a small portion of the episode, whereas this goes on for the entire episode.

I decided that this episode should center around Tabes since she seems like the type of person to handle a car really well.

So, the plot is that the same construction supervisor from the episode "Occupy Bears" comes to the cave to tell the Bears that the city passed a new law that would allow them to demolish any residence without a certified address. Since the cave now matches this criteria, they've come to tear it down. Tabes just so happens to walk by and confronts the supervisor. Then, the supervisor's son, who came along with his father, makes a deal with Tabes.

The young man, who is a contractor, is an avid fan of race cars, and due to his massive paychecks from working as a contractor, has collected many race cars. The deal is this: him and Tabes will race down California Highway 1 (look it up, it's similar to the highway in the episode "Captain Craboo"). If Tabes wins, Tabes gets to keep the car that the contractor will let Tabes borrow for the race. He'll also make the cave a certified address and will even add a second floor to the cave for free. If Tabes loses, then the cave gets demolished, no questions asked. Tabes accepts the deal, and even ups the ante by making the Bears ride in the backseat of the car with her, so if the car crashes and she dies, so will they. Obviously, Tabes let her mouth run on, and she immediately regretted saying it afterwards, since the contractor accepted that, as well. Now, the Bears are terrified because they could lose everything, including their home and even their lives, and are essentially going to be held hostage in the backseat of a car that Tabes has never seen before in her life.

The race starts, and there's a fairly large crowd gathered on the beach to watch the race from a large screen. A high speed drone will capture the race, similar to a news helicopter during a police chase. That live footage will be played on the screen so that the spectators will watch.

The race starts, and I'm not going to go into too much detail here. Obviously, Tabes wins, and pulls a bunch of amazing stunts along the way, including drifting (obviously), taking a shortcut by jumping across a section of the cliff and skipping part of the highway altogether, and even drifting in reverse in an area with no guard rails. The reason she got into reverse in the first place was kind of an accident: Tabes swerved to avoid hitting a family of ducks (or another car at a junction) crossing the road, and instinctively throwing the car in reverse. This is after the car jumps across this section of the highway (the rule book never said you couldn't do that), so at this point Tabes had a big lead, but almost lost it because of that little incident with the ducks. The spectators, the contractor, and especially the Bears are impressed by Tabes' driving abilities, especially the jump and reverse drifting. Tabes wins the race going in reverse, and amazes everyone more by drifiting into a really tight parallel parking space right after she crosses the finish line. The contractor is so impressed with Tabes that he even wants to throw in a third floor for the cave. However, the Bears, mortified that they almost died horrible deaths several times in a row, feel so lucky to be alive that adding two floors to their cave would be too much for them. Basically, the Bears saw their lives flash before their eyes, and are now scarred for life (JK, but still, they were scared). Even Ice Bear couldn't hide how scared he was; you could even say that he was the most traumatized out of all of them. However, Tabes did accept getting an amazing sports car for herself, which miraculously didn't have a single scratch on it after the race.

Phew! That was quite a mouthful. Just some quick notes: I think it would be really cool for the music to be in sync with the actions in the episode. For instance, here's a really cool Eurobeat soundtrack that was featured in the original anime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC4GM36D3Xk

I know that actually featuring this music in the episode would lead to copyright infringement, but then again, this is just a hypothetical episode summary, plus this is a good bop (in my opinion). It would also be really cool if the racing scene was in 3D, kind of like the actual anime. Also, sorry if the plot was somewhat cheesy. As I just said, this is a hypothetical plot. Constructive criticism is encouraged; it allows me to get to know you guys and what you want to see in WBB episodes. So if you want to see some changes, don't be afraid to ask!
